“Give us this day our daily bread.” Mt. 6:11

“The Lord is my strength and my shield;
My heart trusted in Him, and I am helped;
Therefore my heart greatly rejoices,
And with my song I will praise Him.” Psalm 28:7

The Lord will bless His people with peace.” Psalm 29:11

“I will love You, O Lord, my strength.
The Lord is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer;
My God, my strength, in whom I will trust;
My shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold.
I will call upon the Lord, who is worthy to be praised;
So shall I be saved from my enemies.” Psalm 18:1-3

“The Lord is my strength and song,
And He has become my salvation.” Psalm 118:14

We all need strength, don’t we? Maybe right now you’re going through something, or facing a seemingly insurmountable challenge, in a particularly hard season of your life, and you can’t imagine having enough strength to go through it all. How will you make it to the other side?

How can you possibly muster up enough strength to make it? You realize it could take days, weeks, months, or even years, to deal with what you have going on. Please receive this two-fold encouragement.

* The Lord will give us the strength to take us through what He takes us through when we yield ourselves to Him and His ways.

* We don’t need the strength to make it for all the days, weeks, months, and years to come; we simply need HIS STRENGTH FOR TODAY.

Jesus taught the disciples to pray for their DAILY bread. Our daily bread is not just physical, is it? Is not our daily bread everything we need to live for today? For this 24 hours? And is not strength something each and every one of us needs day by day regardless of our present circumstances?

No matter what you are facing, if you believe in the Lord Jesus Christ and have truly committed your life to Him, if you are genuinely following Him and learning day by day to live in a way pleasing to God, He will give you strength for this day.

It can be indescribably overwhelming when we’re in a really hard season of our lives and we start wondering how we can possibly make it through it all. But when we surrender ourselves breath by breath to Jesus, and strive to live by God’s Spirit by His Word, we need nothing more than His Spirit’s leading and provision – including STRENGTH FOR TODAY.

Why not ask the Lord for STRENGTH FOR TODAY – and trust Him to give it to you? Be diligent in believing in and following the Lord Jesus Christ – and trust no matter your trials, troubles, and tribulations, when you are walking in His will, He will give you strength to press on.
