STOP What You’re Doing

“The steps of a good man are ordered by the LORD, And He delights in his way.” Psalm 37:23 [the KJV version has “good” in italics as the word may not have been in the original Hebrew text]

Someone needed help. I already had plans. But the person’s need was urgent. The Lord had a different plan than I did. I changed plans. I helped the person in need. I take no credit. I take no glory. All the glory belongs to the Lord. I am nothing more than His vessel madly and passionately in love with Him, ever desirous to show Him my love and faith in service to Him and to others. Day after day, it happens. Someone in need. Time and again. I have devoted 24-7 to the Lord and ministry, and as someone living on the road full-time called to streets ministry and to helping people through writing, speaking, and acts of love online, in print, and in person to help people to find and forever follow the Lord Jesus Christ, my opportunities are endless to STOP what I’m doing – and to love and serve as the Spirit of God leads me. No matter my plans. No matter my comfort, sense of security, personal desires, dreams, wishes, wants, and fleshly ways. If there is one thing I’ve learned about loving and serving the Lord, we need to be willing to STOP what we’re doing. When the Spirit of God says so.

To be interrupted. To be inconvenienced. To go in a different direction. To change tracks. To forsake something we wanted. To give up something we planned. To change plans. To say no to ourselves. To say no to others when the Lord wants us to. To give up what we want. To yes to Christ. To love and serve the Lord, and to love and serve others in His name as step by step the Spirit of God leads those of us who follow the Lord Jesus Christ.

Please be willing to STOP what you’re doing to love and serve the Lord, and to love and serve others, to help someone in need, to do whatever the Lord desires, please be willing to STOP – and to give of yourself to the Lord most high and to help a world in dire need of the Lord Jesus Christ. For the glory of the Lord most high!
