“For whoever is ashamed of Me and My words, of him the Son of Man will be ashamed when He comes in His own glory, and in His Father’s, and of the holy angels.” Luke 9:26
“Shout joyfully to the Lord, all the earth;
Break forth in song, rejoice, and sing praises.” Psalm 98:4
I was watching three men try to move an indescribably heavy piece of machinery on a street corner to no avail when I decided to stop right by them and begin to silently pray for them. I refused to move until I felt I had sufficiently prayed – and God answered. Turns out one man was trying to help two young laborers to move the equipment, and at last they got it up on the curb and were able to get it going down the sidewalk. I couldn’t help but exclaim to them how I had just prayed for them in the name of Jesus and figured I wouldn’t get much response. It didn’t matter. I just felt compelled to tell them I had prayed.
Immediately, one of the young men who had a very “young” and “cool” and “macho” and “manly” look to him right out loud – and loudly – exclaimed, “HE IS MY SAVIOR!” as he held his hand to his chest to emphasize that the Lord Jesus Christ is the love of his life. His co laborer instantly snapped at him either out of shame or disgust or embarrassment to keep on moving down the sidewalk. But the laborer who loves the Lord Jesus Christ could not have been more delighted at his opportunity to proclaim his love for his Savior and Lord!
Let us never hold back from sharing the Gospel, from proclaiming aloud Christ as our Lord and Savior, from praising the Lord aloud, from worshiping Him, from glorifying Him in public, from doing whatever He desires whenever He desires with hearts filled with love and reverence for Him as we bring praise and honor and glory to the Lord most high – no matter what those around us think, say, or do. Oh, how that young laborer blessed my day. Most importantly, oh how surely he must have blessed the Lord by excitedly and publicly professing his love for the Lord Jesus Christ as he and his co-worker pushed that machinery down the sidewalk!
