“Sing praises to God, sing praises! Sing praises to our King, sing praises!” Psalm 47:6
“Finally, all of you be of one mind, having compassion for one another; love as brothers, be tenderhearted, be courteous; not returning evil for evil or reviling for reviling, but on the contrary blessing, knowing that you were called to this, that you may inherit a blessing.” 1 Peter 3:8-9
“Therefore comfort each other and edify one another, just as you also are doing.” 1 Thess. 5:11
“A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another; as I have loved you, that you also love one another.” John 13:34
Biblically speaking, ever considered the three most important ways to use your mouth?
The Lord’s greatest commands to us are to love Him with all our hearts and to love others as ourselves, right?
Our greatest purpose on this earth is to love and glorify God, and to love and help others to know and follow the Lord Jesus Christ, right?
So what would be the three greatest uses for our mouths?
1. To love and glorify God. To praise Him, adore Him, revere Him, honor Him, sing to Him, exalt Him, magnify Him, pray to Him, commune with Him, anything and everything we can possibly do with our mouths to lift up the Lord’s name with hearts filled with love and thanksgiving!
2. To share the Gospel of the Kingdom of God by spreading the Gospel message that Jesus Christ is Lord and died on the cross to pay our sin penalty and was raised from the dead and that the only way to a forever relationship with God is by repenting and turning to Christ as Lord with our faith firmly planted in Him!
3. To love and encourage and pray for and help others not only to believe in Christ but to day by day follow Him by studying the Bible and learning to live by it!
The very most important ways to use our mouths are all about the Lord Jesus Christ and loving and glorifying God and loving and helping and encouraging others to do the same!
The Lord teaches us much in His Word about what NOT to do with our mouths. He also makes utterly clear what we SHOULD do with our mouths.
May our hearts and mouths and lives be continually emptied of sin and filled with a love and boundless passion to glorify God almighty through Christ who is Lord forevermore!
