How Can I Please You?

“Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created.” Rev. 4:11 KJV

“and He died for all, that those who live should live no longer for themselves, but for Him who died for them and rose again.” 2 Cor. 5:15

“How can I please you?” I prayed to God one morning. Then it dawned on me. There is a message in this.

Was it not so very long ago I lived for me and not for Jesus? That I wanted to please me and didn’t long to please God? That even when I wanted to please others it was because I wanted something from them like love and acceptance rather than I wanted to please them to love them in order to please God who commands us to love others?

God is teaching me day by day how to LIVE FOR HIM which means when it comes to pleasing it’s no longer about me. It’s about Jesus.

“How can I please you?” I asked the Lord that day.

What in this 24-hour period, and in all the days to come, would it look like to please God? What would bring Him praise, glory, and honor? What would bring Him joy and gladness? What would make Him proud and delighted? What would bring Him pleasure?

The Lord by His Spirit through His Word or speaking directly to our hearts in a personal way always in line with His Word will give us the wisdom to know what pleases Him step by step through our lives.

The starting place is this. Knowing Christ’s followers are to live for Him, and desiring to please Him. Then shall we seek Him, and wait on Him, and hear Him, and obey Him with this in mind.

How can I please you Lord?

May you live and breathe day by day down to this very moment to love, honor, praise, worship, serve, obey, revere, glorify, and please God almighty in Christ. May you seek His face on a regular basis as you seek and strive and aspire and devote yourself to Him and to pleasing Him now and forevermore, AMEN!
