“Oh, give thanks to the Lord, for He is good!
For His mercy endures forever.” Psalm 107:1
It may seem shocking on the surface how many times I have sensed the Spirit of God tell me to call someone at a specific time and the person has confirmed the Lord had compelled me to make the call. The person has needed something. Love, encouragement, prayer, a listening ear, help in her relationship with Christ, support with the Bible, etc. But it shouldn’t be shocking at all, should it?
The same God who loves us so much He sent His only Son to the cross to pay the penalty for our sins and to be raised from the dead to give everlasting life to those who repent and commit their lives to Him is the same God who loves us right down to the very details of our everyday lives.
The question shouldn’t be does God really love us, and how much does He really love us, should it? Shouldn’t the question really be, are we paying attention? And are we perhaps taking His love for granted?
Are our hearts and eyes open on a daily basis to His love and goodness, to His kindness and patience with us, to His mercy and grace, to His generosity and sacrifice, to His blessedness pouring forth moment by moment into our hearts and lives?
And, are our hearts filled with thanksgiving to Him for His graciousness and goodness?
Perhaps we need to do a better job at this. Of being open to seeing and experiencing and thanking Him for His endless ways of showing us His love, and for His endless blessings He bestows upon His followers.
Let us rejoice in this, and be thankful, to the Lord, for His love, forever!
