How hard it is to believe in the most trying of times that God truly knows our needs – and that He will supply them as promised when we follow His instructions. My year is ending with the same seemingly insurmountable challenges with which it began, and yet I know in my heart God knows my needs. When Jesus sent His followers out to do the work He called them to do, what instruction did He give them? “And He said unto them, Take nothing for your journey, neither staves, nor scrip, neither bread, neither money; neither have two coats apiece (Luke 9:3 KJV).” Jesus knew He would provide for them, and He wanted them to trust. I also believe He did not want them to be distracted by worrying about their needs. My faith is being tried like never before, and clearly I have a long way to go in trusting God in the hardest of times. But one thing is for sure. I know that He knows my needs. And He does promise to provide.
