Don’t Let This Stop You

I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” Phil. 4:13

“Jesus said to him, “If you can believe, all things are possible to him who believes.”” Mark 9:23

“Don’t let anything or anyone stop you,” the Spirit of God spoke to my heart. Why? And why am I telling you this?

Here’s why I believe He told me this. Because I have a long history as I follow the Lord of both circumstances and people trying to stop me from continuing forward as the Spirit of God leads me. And because I have a long history of becoming afraid, discouraged, overwhelmed, disheartened, down, doubtful, weary, etc. when I have faced obstacles following Jesus. And though I have not quit, I have most assuredly stalled, gotten stuck, distracted, off track, so heavy laden I’m of little effect going forward, etc.

And though the Lord is teaching me day by day to walk by faith forward, in His love, strength, and mercy, and though I have grown in trusting the Lord and not being so adversely affected when I face obstacles, I believe the Lord wanted to warn me to be careful as I press on and to remember to depend on Him for everything I need including His love, grace, power, wisdom, direction, joy, hope, protection, provision, counsel, comfort, etc.

Obstacles can come from people, places, and things, i.e. the world. Obstacles can come from the flesh, i.e. self. Obstacles can come from the devil. But when we’re in the will of the Lord, with our trust and faith in the Lord, walking in the love and mercy of the Lord, filled with and empowered by His Spirit and led by His Spirit, we don’t have to be stopped. We can press on. Endure. Persevere. Go forth.

Why am I telling you this? Perhaps you have a clear sense of the Lord’s leading in your life. Perhaps you are allowing yourself to be stopped. Or simply need to be encouraged to go forward.

Or perhaps you don’t have a clear sense of the Lord’s leading because you haven’t yet repented and committed your life to Him.

Or perhaps you have committed your life to Christ but need encouragement in seeking and hearing and obeying the voice of the Lord.

Whatever your situation, the Lord knows what you need. Go to Him, friend. Believe in Him. Faithfully follow Him. Cry out to Him. Read, read, read the Bible. Worship the Lord and learn from Him on your own. And worship the Lord and learn from Him with others in church, a Bible study, house church, etc.

And if anything or anyone is trying to stop you from following the Lord, DON’T BE STOPPED. Follow Jesus! Every moment you have left on this earth. And forevermore!
