Crying Out for Help

“A friend loves at all times…” Proverbs 17:17

“By this all will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another.”” John 13:35

There is nothing more important in the universe that we do when we’re really struggling and in need of help than that we cry out to God almighty through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ and a life devoted to Jesus. But some of us are holding back from taking another extremely important step. A step we need to take as the Lord leads us to do so!

Jesus is the head of His Body which is the worldwide congregation of all who believe in and follow Him as Lord.

We are called by God to love one another, to help and support one another, to pray for one another, to give to and share with one another, to encourage one another, to bless one another, to pray for one another, to help one another to grow in our relationship with the Lord, and much, much more, all in the name of Christ in the love of Christ for the glory of Christ!

Unfortunately, pride, fear, shame, worry, the way we were raised to keep our struggles to ourselves, resistance to the possibility of getting hurt again, rebellion, depression and discouragement, etc. can do a pretty good job of trying to convince us we should stick to ourselves and keep from crying out to Christ’s Body when we’re struggling.

If you’re struggling, cry out to the Lord! Cry out to the Lord! Cry out to the Lord! Spend time with Him. Seek Him. Study His Word. Listen for His Spirit speaking to your heart. Pray to Him. Hear Him. Obey Him. Pour out your heart to Him. Be loved and helped and guided and blessed and encouraged and comforted and convicted and changed and refined and provided for and supported by Him.

But please don’t stop there. Christ’s Body is to function as one whole Body of Christ. All loving and helping and encouraging one another. Cry out to the Lord! And let Christ’s followers know when you’re hurting, when you’re hopeless, when you’re down and discouraged, when you’re struggling, when you need a listening ear, prayer, a listening heart, someone to encourage you, someone to point you to the Lord and His Word, someone to comfort you and give you a loving smile and a warm hug. Someone who loves Jesus to walk alongside you as you go through the trials of this life.

Don’t go through your struggles alone. Cry out to God. And let His Body know your needs. Then receive what God provides for you through His Body in His love and for His awesome glory, AMEN!
