“My son, do not despise the chastening of the Lord,
Nor detest His correction;
For whom the Lord loves He corrects,
Just as a father the son in whom he delights.” Proverbs 3:11-12
When you’re out of God’s will, get back in it. Are you out of God’s will? The very best way to know is this. If what you’re doing doesn’t line up with God’s Word, the Bible, you’re out of His will. What if you’re not sure? His Spirit brings conviction, correction, and chastening, and ultimately leads us to repentance when we’re out of His will. Is His Spirit speaking to your heart?
How else can you know you’re out of His will? Christ’s Body of His followers are to love us, encourage us, pray for us, help us to grow in relationship with God, and to confront us in love when God’s Spirit so leads them. His followers also can help us discern whether or not we’re out of God’s will. We can ask them for help in this! Are you out of God’s will? What should you do?
SEEK GOD’S FORGIVENESS.
TURN BACK TO HIM.
TURN TO HIS WORD.
BE LED BY HIS SPIRIT.
REACH OUT TO HIS FOLLOWERS FOR LOVE, PRAYER, AND SUPPORT.
COMMIT TO LEARN TO DO RIGHT IN GOD’S EYES.
When God shows us we’re out of His will in any area of our lives and in His love for us brings correction, there’s only one right thing to do – repent and turn back to Him and yield ourselves to the leading of His Spirit as He conforms us to Himself and teaches us to walk in His ways.
Please spend time with God daily, dig into His Word daily, seek His face daily, hear Him daily, follow Him daily, for Christ’s sake, as you go forth!
